Vintage Brown Transferware Staffordshire CoffeePot

Image Description
Vintage brown transferware coffee pot from Barratts Staffordshire. Olde worlde charm with an English country scene. Circa 1950s.

The body of the pot and the lid have a have a nice swirled shape. Lots of different images. The main scene on the sides show a large country house beside a lake. Standing in the water are 2 cattle with a man and woman on the grass verge.

On the upper band of the pot is a trellis with grapes and various flowers. The floral theme is repeated on the spout and lid - while the handle has an almost snakeskin look pattern.

It stands 8in (20.3cm) tall without the lid.

Condition is good although there is considerable crazing but there are no chips, cracks, or flea bites. Pristine clean inside and looks like it has never been used.

Barratts of Staffordshire were potters at the Royal Overhouse Manufactory, from 1943 to 1992. In 1992 they merged with Royal Stafford China and changed their name to Royal Stafford.
