Johnson Bros Dream Town Earthenware Dish 1950s

Johnson Bros earthernware pin dish, or butter pat, circa 1950s in their Dream Town pattern.

The shape is a retro rounded square and the artwork depicts a rural English scene of a small village town with houses, church steeple, lake and trees. It is an autumn winter scene with folliage off the trees.

An off white base with mostly brown and nice accents in red, pale blue, orange.

Johnson Bros, (Hanley) Ltd was founded in 1883 by four brothers, Henry, Robert, Alfred and Fred Johnson. From modest beginings the company had great success and within 70 years became one of the largest firms of earthenware manufacturers in the world with a number of factories in England and abroad. In 1968 it became part of the Wedgewood group.

Size is just over 4in (10.5cm) and stands about 1/2" (1cm) high.

Condition is very good with no cracks, chips or crazing.
