Welcome to GlassMenagerie

I began working with stained glass ten years ago. I find it amazing to take a piece of this and some of that and put it together to create something beautiful. Each piece is one of a kind, constructed using hand cut glass, various patinas, decorative soldering and embellishments. Glass choice is very important in my work. I look for glass that has characteristics that can be used to give the piece flow and movement. When the piece is nearly finished I begin to think about which patina, if any, should be applied. If I want a more dramatic feeling I choose black patina. Copper patina is a good choice for a more vintage or elegant feel to the piece. Leaving the solder a bright silver gives the piece an ethereal feel to it. Each piece is different. Each piece has a feeling of its own. Each piece is a joy to create. More »
