Ester (my great-grandmother) taught me fiber arts when I was young. She always made me feel important and loved. I was blessed to have had so much time with her. That spunky gal keept on spinning, even after reaching a youthful 100 years old.
One thing she would say to me was that I should always wear a heart. That it will remind me to love myself. So, I would take scraps of Ester's hand spun yarn and crochet little hearts to carry in my pockets.
Continuing with fiber arts is a way to honor Ester and remember all the lessons she taught me. More »
