Get to Know

I am a lifetime resident of middle Tennessee. I was lucky enough to have a grandmother who was very creative. She encouraged me to explore my artistic talents. I learned to sew, did a lot of crewel embroidery and counted cross stitch, macrame and handpainted a lot of plaster figurines. Nothing else has had an impact on me like stained glass has. I took a stained glass class at a local studio in 1991. It started out as a hobby, but soon I was being asked to make suncatchers for friends and relatives or selling what was in my windows at home. I love the challenges. I have moved on to fused and slumped glass since developing arthritis in my hands. Foiling glass has become painful, but fusing has allowed me to pursue glasswork without the pain. I love looking at a piece of glass and knowing what it's going to be.
