Get to Know

I love my life!

It took me almost 30 years to get to this happy place and I am thankful for all the lessons I have learned along the way.

I have a wonderful husband, Jared, that lets me stay home with our brilliant daughter, Emma. Emma is 5, and is the reason I do all the good and healthy things in my life.

I have always dabbled in crafts. There is something very satisfying about taking little bits of stuff and making something really cool out of it. My "professional" crafting began in September of 2009. I decided to teach myself to crochet. That seemed to be the key to many doors for me. Since then, no craft has been safe from me. So far, the only craft I have not really enjoyed, was soap making. I liked it, just not enough to make soap on a regular basis.

Fabric and yarn are a different story. My mother was always sewing as I was growing up. I remember in Jr. High I made a dinosaur and a pair of shorts. Up until a 2010, the only time I thought about sewing was when I needed some quick curtains. Now it may be my favorite form of crafting; as long as I am using mostly recycled material such as unwanted clothes, bedding, etc. The few times I buy fabric, I always get it for 50% off or more. I don't usually use a pattern, but I am always willing to try something new!
Since I started crocheting, I have been more aware of all the beautiful things created with yarn. So far I have made blankets, but at Emma's request, I am about to voyage into the realm of yarn dresses. I plan to learn to knit also in the near future.
I also do a bit of paper crafting. I am mostly trying to get rid of my stash of scrapbooking stuff, but I still love creating, regardless of the reason:)
