Get to Know
I am a young artisan from Helsinki, Finland. I have crafted my entire life, and sold my crafts online since 2007.
I have studied at an art conservatory for 14 years, with a specialization in painting and drawing. I have been trained in building restoration, with a focus on traditional paint and wallpaper techniques, such as egg tempera or woodgraining. This background (combined with my perfectionism and overactive imagination) led me to create my line of miniature owls in 2007.
My owls have been sold to seven different countries online, and to an even wider array of countries in person, since during the summer I sell my owls in the Helsinki Market Square by the sea, where a wonderful mix of visitors from near and far visit my stall.
Everything I sell has been hand made by me, starting as a lump of wet clay and ending up as new friend or treasure. I love my shop dearly, and treat my customers accordingly. I like to start work each day by imagining all the far-away places where my creations have flown to and are now cherished in.
When you purchase from my shop, you are not only supporting Finnish handmade, you are also helping me put myself through school. I am studying to become an Occupational Therapist with a specialization in Autism. My crafting provides both a refreshing counterbalance to my coursebooks, and a way to achieve my dream, so I am very grateful for your business.
If there is anything I can assist you with, I would be happy to help. Do not hesitate to contact me :)
Kiitos - Thank you!
