Skills and Techniques

I love to create works of art using seed beads and often use the brick stitch, peyote stitch, and the right angle weave (RAW) stitch in much of my work, but I love to learn new stitches and incorporate new styles into my work. I create traditional and contemporary designs, and most of my bead work is done from my own designs. Many of my items are one of a kind (OOAK).

Get to Know

My name is Tsilos Schoener and I am an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and a direct descendant of the Menominee Nation of Wisconsin. My late mother, who was Menominee, taught me to bead more than 20 years ago. The rest, as they say, is history.

I LOVE beading and creating new items. I sometimes use my own designs and sometimes use tutorials, and sometimes I combine the two for a unique take. I create both traditional Native American and contemporary beadwork and many of the items I make are one of a kind (OOAK).

I live in Northern Wisconsin and have lived in Wisconsin for most of my life. I have my Juris Doctorate from UW Law School in Madison, Wisconsin, and two Bachelor of Arts Degrees, one in Psychology and the other in American Indian Studies, both from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

I also enjoy writing and write a lot of poetry and prose, mostly about life, living, and inspiration. I put a lot of positive energy into my beadwork and other works of art because I firmly believe that an artist instills into their work the energies they carry as they create.

I look forward to a life long relationship with each of my customers!
