Lauren Andersen is affectionately known throughout the craft world as The ChainMaille LadyââEURžÂ¢ for her exquisite jewelry designs, chainmaille products and expert techniques. Her high quality tools and tips make it easy for everyone to enjoy the resurgence of this ancient art.

Chainmaille was originally used as a type of metal armor around 500 B.C., consisting of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh. Today, Lauren weaves chainmaille from sterling silver, Artistic WireÃ,®, aluminum and other metals, at times incorporating crystals or other gems. She has created some of the most intricate and beautiful modern jewelry designs found anywhere.

As an acclaimed Chainmaille Designer, Instructor, Product Developer, Author, Media Contributor and International Spokesperson, Lauren enjoys sharing her passion for the technique, beauty and symmetry of chainmaille.

Lauren has been a frequent guest on television shows including Beads, Baubles & Jewels and the Jewelry Television network's Jewel School. Her designs have been published in the popular industry magazine Step by Step Wire Jewelry, including being featured on the front-page.

Lauren is the author of two other leading chainmaille books, Basics of Chain Maille and Advanced Chain Maille. Her unique designs are inspired by geometric shapes, patterns and angles as well as innovative techniques.

As an international spokesperson with the BeadalonÃ,® Design Team, she travels around the country demonstrating chainmaille methods and presenting her product line, including The ChainMaille LadyââEURžÂ¢ Snub Nose Pliers and The ChainMaille LadyââEURžÂ¢ Travel Kit.

The ChainMaille Lady lives in the San Gabriel Valley of sunny Southern California with her husband and ally Shan, who has earned the title Mr. Chain. And every day her precious Chihuahua Miss Gizmo sits in her lap as she expertly weaves her chainmaille jewelryââ,¬Â¦one tiny jump ring at a time.
