Get to Know

I currently live in the heart of Texas with my wonderful husband. I am doing my dream job as an academic adviser for Western Governors University and I am excited that I will be able to get back to working on my second love... wirework!

I started making jewelry after a car accident in 2005 that almost took my life. I suffered from a Traumatic Brain Injury and I shattered my right elbow. While stuck at home for a year recovering I was desperately in need of something to occupy my mind and my hands! My sister suggested I try making jewelry. She is amazing with the seed beads but I found that wire was my love! Not only was it great PT for my elbow but it required a lot of concentration, memory work, and creativity which were great therapy for my mind!

There was a time of about three years that my tools and goodies sat in my parents' basement while I moved around the country. Now that I'm settled and have been encouraged by friends and family to start making jewelry again I have relocated my tools and built back up my goodies. I have been back making what I love for almost three months now and I find my skill level and tastes are still ever changing. I love pure wirework, working around beads and cabochons, and I love chainmaille! My new passion is in weaving and coiling wire along with incorporating steampunk elements. The newest skills that I am working on are with stamping and working with resin.

From time to time you will also see my completed cross stitch creations posted for sale. This is a craft that I have carried with me from elementary school and I find that it is one that completely de-stresses me.

If you ever have questions about me or my art please let me know! I have loved re-connecting with the community of jewelry artisans and would love to get to know each of you as well!
