Skills and Techniques

I design and make jewellery, bags and handwoven scarves. I spin wool and alpaca which I use for my scarves along with other interesting yarns including recycled sari silk for splashes of colour. I also make felt which I use on some of my bags, using machine embroidery for embellishment. I make polymer clay beads, pendants, buttons and other components for my jewellery.

Get to Know

I have enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts since childhood. My mother taught me to sew with her old Singer treadle machine and I made myself mini skirts in the swinging 60s! I learned to weave over 30 years ago, and later to spin - I tried knitting but rarely managed to finish anything so now I weave on a small table loom. Jewellery making is a more recent passion for me, and my latest venture is into the amazing world of polymer clay. I'm loving how versatile it is and I'm making beads and buttons to sell as well as to use in the jewellery I sell. I also sell from a shop on Folksy in the UK - I am happy to ship worldwide from both of my shops, Artfire and Folksy. http://averilpam.folksy.com
I now also sell from another UK site, Wow Thank You,

These were the first polymer clay beads I made and used in a necklace to sell. It went into an exhibition along with a matching bracelet. The bracelet sold, but not the necklace so I decided to keep it.
