Get to Know

The main reason I try to sell what I make is because I have a limited budget and a need to be artistic. I'm also running out of room and my family doesn't want any more handmade gifts from me. Bear and cloth doll making are the most fun for me and I also love to watercolor paint. I'm an escapee from that awesome Austin, Texas music scene and I've recently come out of hiding as a bass player and I'm playing in our church's band. I just wish I had more time to devote to art, like most of us I guess. My husband & I own a small heating & Air conditioning company and owning a business can take up a whole lot of time. Because I'm a sucker & animals know it, I have a rescued cocker spaniel, a pampered from birth golden retriever & 5 rescued cats. I also feed the neighborhood wild cats and trap them, have them spayed or neutered & let them go - we don't have many kittens, mice, rats, or snakes around here. We live in a small, quiet town in the Texas Hill Country and that's the way I like it. There is so much artistic talent out here, I am a member of the Highland Arts Guild and Burnet Creative Arts, Inc.

I painted this picture off an old photograph, it's supposed to be Giddings, TX 1800's. I livened it up a bit & gave it an Americana primitive feel.

I painted a watercolor picture of my next door neighbor's back yard one spring. This painting is in the private collection of Donna Grover, St. Mary's Georgia.

This doll is in celebration of my niece's Shannon's girl scout badges for sewing. This is now in a private collection.

This was a piece of scrap mohair that I made into a mint green bear. Now in a private collection.
