Turquoise is produced from a number of locations worldwide, notably in the southwest US, Egypt, Iran and Tibet with the largest supplier of the stone being China. With over 75% of the turquoise market coming out of China, Chinese Turquoise has become the most widely used Turquoise in the world. There is evidence of turquoise use in China dating at least as far back as 1700 BC as evidenced by a bronze plaque with turquoise overlay from the Erlitou culture site in Menan Province displayed at the Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing.The Tibetians have preferred turquoise to any other gemstone and virtually every Tibetian possesses some turquoise. Northwest of Shanghai is the Ma'ashan turquoise mine, and the Hubei Province produces turquoise in colors reminiscent of the now closed mines in Nevada.
Stabilization is necessary in order to maintain the beautiful color of your turquoise and harden the stone. Turquoise changes color over time because it gradually absorbs oils from the skin as it is worn and as it comes into constant contact with the natural elements. The colors in stabilized turquoise, however, are permanent. This usually involves hardening the stone under pressure using a clear organic process that absorbs into the rock, permanently hardening it and deepening its color. These turquoise beads have been stabilized and most likely dyed, as is common with 97% of the turquoise offered on the market.

Not liking the item or having a reaction is not covered under this return policy. If you receive a defective item, you would need to contact me within 48 hours of receiving the package and return the item(s) within 7 days. If the item is defective, you will receive a full refund.

I accept PayPal. Be sure your current address on PayPal is correct to avoid shipping delays. Please pay for your order promptly so that I can ship your order out to you quickly. Orders not paid for by PayPal within 2 business days will be canceled. I will ship your order via USPS First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation to all US addresses. Jewelry must be in an unworn condition for a full refund. Jewelry that has been worn will incur a 20% restocking charge. You may request an exchange or refund of your jewelry or bead purchase within 30 days of receipt of your order. For returns or exchanges, contact me through ArtFire or by e-mail. Returned items will not be accepted unless you contact me prior to sending it back. Please note that you are responsible for shipping fees when returning items. For your protection, items should be returned via an insured carrier with delivery confirmation as I cannot be held responsible for lost returns.

All items are shipped within 1-2 days after receiving your order and payment. If there would be a delay for any reason, I will contact you via email with a revised ship date.
All items are carefully packaged and shipped in either a bubble envelope or a box. Earrings will be wrapped in tissue paper and put into a cute little pocket box unless a gift box is requested. Bracelets will be shipped the same way unless they are large or delicate enough to be automatically placed in a gift box for safe shipping. The same holds true for necklaces. Gems and metal components will be placed in separate plastic envelopes. Herbal items will ship in the most secure, convenient and cost effective way.
