Glorious and scintillating are two words that best describe South African tigers eye gemstones. This necklace contains natural tiger eye gemstones in both golden brown and honey gold shades. To add interest and texture I used both smooth rounds, faceted rounds and smooth rectangles. Each stone is a glory unto itself. All will have a strong chatoyance. Chatoyant is a word to describe a polished surface ... when turned towards the light often shows a series of lustrous bands alternating with bands of duller color which show little silky luster. The beauty of the effect is enhanced by the fact that the fibers are not always perfectly straight; they may be curved and often have a sharp bend or twist at a certain place. Interestingly they can change with the light resulting in a reversal of the conditions, the dark bands becoming lustrous and the lustrous bands becoming dark. The golden brown tigers eye have a dark brown background with a light golden bands. The more unusual honey gold stones are a much lighter golden brown with a creamy chatoyancy. On each end of the larger rounds I added antique brass dotted bead caps. The smooth rectangular gemstones are equally as beautiful in their reflection of golden strands. To pick up the hues of both colors of gemstones I selected a wonderful volcanic tiger quartz faceted pendant. This is a glass pendant that has been infused with clouds of brown, white and a tiny hint of yellow within. When you hold it up to the light, you see the "clouds" of color floating within. The pendant is attached to the necklace using an antique brass flower pinch bail from JBB findings. To finish off the necklace I added antique bracelet corrugated rondelles and Russian gold twisted tornado crimps from Via Murano. Wire guardians are also used to protect the beading wire from wear. For the closure I selected a wonderful antique brass flower toggle by TierraCast. TierraCast is well known for it's quality jewelry findings that are only produced in the United States.
The necklace is 21 inches or approximately 53 centimeters in length. The pendant will add an additional 2 inch or 5 centimeters to the length. As an added bonus I will include a complimentary pair of matching earrings using honey gold and golden brown tigers eye. The earrings are hung on antique brass hypoallergenic leverback earrings that are produced in the United States. In addition, the necklace will come with a jewelry pouch for storage.

Note: Please be aware that not all monitors will show colors exactly the same. The colors may appear lighter or darker based on the type of monitor you have. As I edit my photos I ensure they are as exact as they can be to my jewelry pieces. Natural and artificial lighting can enhance or diffuse shades of stones and crystals as you wear them. I also use different backgrounds in my photos so that you can see some of the color variance. Enjoy!
