My little duck shawl pin is absolutely whimsical.
It's stunning design is made to use with loosely woven fabrics such as shawls, sweaters, scarves, or could be used as a hair stick ....
I used 18 gauge copper wire to hand shape this lovely little duck, and on the back side, it has a special little slot for the pin to slide thru for extra security.
On the outside of the Duck, I wire wrapped using Dyna-Mites E-beads #6 transparent Rainbow Iris seed beads and Dyna-Mites #11 iris peacock seed beads, with 3 transparent Rainbow Iris hex beads on top of his head and for his eye, I used a hand made 4mm teal glass bead.
The stick pin is 16 gauge copper wire with a closed hoop on top of the pin. On the inside of the hoop, I used #6 Dyna-Mites E-beads and on the outside I wire wrapped it with #11 transparent Rainbow Iris seed beads. The end of the pin has been smothed down so there will not be any snags.
Perfect to accent to your Fall fashions.
It is a one of a kind statement piece and would make a great gift for someone or yourself.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

I love working with my hands and making new items. I was sitting on the front porch making a blanket pin, when a Mallard duck flew down and landed a few feet from where I was sitting. He was so Beautiful, so I changed what I was making into the lovely creature I was looking at.

They would be perfect for Primitive Rendezvous, French and Indian War re-enactments, Colonial events, Civil War re-enactments, Black powder shoots, Mountainman Rendezvous, Fur trades, Longhunters, Buckskinners, Muzzleloaders, Renaissance Festivals or any similar living history event.

The copper wire used in this pin is in it's natural form and has not been treated with waxes or sprays.
Copper naturally oxidizes over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny.
To keep shiny, wash with soft toothbrush and catsup, and rinse and dry with soft material.
