Cartier Godron Square 18K Gold Women Watch

RARE vintage Cartier Godron square watchin solid 18k gold. Black roman numerals and blued-steel hands. Original crown set with a blue sapphire cabochon on a 18k gold-case. Case measure approx. 24.5mm x 28mm, sapphire crystal glass, steel winding-crown inset with a sapphire cabochon and fitted with a Cartier black alligator strap and an adjustable deployant buckle*in solid 18K gold.

A collector watch. The watch is in mint condition, it just came back from Cartier with a complete overhaul service including the replacement of the crystal, replacement of the hand set, replacement of the dial, replacement of the screws (6) and replacement of the custom black alligator strap for deplyant buckle. The watch is like new!


*A deployant buckle is an expanding metal buckle attched to the strap. The tail end of the strap is threaded through the buckle to fit the desired size. Once threaded, the metal buckle expands when donning or removing, and the clasp then folds over and clips closed while worn.

A deployant buckle has strong positive aspects:

1. Once the strap is correctly threaded to size, the strap should be secured safely to the buckle creating a closed circle. This will sharply reduce the risk of the watch falling while donning and removal.
2. Deployant buckles extend the life of the strap. As the strap does not need constant threading, much stress usually applied to the strap is transferred to the hinged metal deployant buckle.
