Tribal ~ Turquoise, Coral, Batik Bone & Copper Necklace ~ Handmade

You won't find another like this, it's truly one of a kind! For starts, I rarely get the chance to work with genuine branch coral; there's sadly not so much of it around anymore, yet we all still love its iconic look. And genuine, naturally red Sardinian coral is also hard to come by; this little 5mm (1/5") ball was my only remaining bit of it, stashed away with the other parts for this concept necklace I'd long imagined. Now I've finally pulled it out and followed my dream for the piece, and it is so perfectly true to my original vision for it. This is a very attractive piece of wearable art, vivid and earthy yet polished-looking, so unique.

The necklace is 20-1/4" long end-to-end; the coiled copper bar above the branch coral rests about 2" below the collarbone. The entire focal assembly, from coiled copper bar down to the hinged coral round, is two inches. The turquoise ball is 18mm (11/16"), the sideways coral branch is 25mm (1") long, the sliced section of coral is about 1/2" wide; the batik-dyed bone pipes, of which there are 7 each side totaling 14, are about 3/4" by 3/16" each. The clasp/toggle ring's inside diameter is 7mm (a bit over 1/4") and, being manufactured to exacting standards, is easily fastened/unfastened yet secure in the wearing. Toggle clasps are always easier than other types, but this one is especially easy to handle even behind one's head, as its texture plus the knobbed ends make for an easy grip.

This is a cheery, casual piece with great distinction. You could also wear it for work or to dinner or theater, especially with monochromatic, subdued or nondescript clothing or, alternatively, flowing ethnic styles. It has a tribal vibe, yet not stereotypically so. You will get a lot of compliments, from people with all tastes and style preferences.

One-of-a-kind; this piece was handmade by me in my home studio, here in the Yolla Bolly Wilderness area, in the east-facing foothills of the Mendocino mountains in northern California.

I take deep pride in my work; each piece is infused with its own personality by the time I've finished it. Because these creations have life for me, I will gladly repair anything untoward that may happen to it in the normal course of wearing. Just email me at, and let me know of any problems which I'd be most eager to fix. I want you to enjoy your wearable art I've made, and to gift it with pride.

All required sales taxes are paid by me, they are included in the purchase price; the price you see, plus applicable shipping, is all that you'll pay at checkout.

.And if you're going to be in either Tehama or Shasta county, contact me and we can arrange to meet with hand-delivery and, if it’s not a special trip for me, I’ll reduce your price by the amount of shipping (which is automatically computed by the website).
