Organic Caraway Seeds - 20 Seeds
Meridian Fennel, Persian Cumin
Short Description: It is a biennial, with smooth, furrowed stems growing, hearing finely cut leaves, and umbels of white flowers which blossom in June. The fruits which are popularly and incorrectly called seeds - and which correspond in general character to those of the other plants of this large family, are laterally compressed, somewhat horny and translucent, slightly curved, and marked with five distinct, pale ridges. They evolve a pleasant, aromatic odor when bruised, and have an agreeable taste.
Lifecycle: Biennial, normally grown as a cutback annual
Height: 1 1/2 to 2 feet high.
Water: Average Water Needs; Water regularly; do not overwater.
Sun: Full sun, slightly shaded
Soil: Lose, loamy, slightly sandy soil, does not tolerate compacted clay heavy soils
Soil pH: 6.0 to 7.8
Bloom Colors: Near-white to light pink, occasionally lavender/purple
Form: Mounding, may bolt is not maintained.
Companion Planting: Caraway grows well with most vegetables especially peas and beans but don't plant it near fennel
Habitat: Moist meadows, arable land and waste places from lowland to mountain elevations. The plant is distributed throughout the northern and central parts of Europe and Asia, though where it occurs in this country it is only considered a naturalized species, having apparently escaped from cultivation.
Origin: Central Europe to Asia; it is not clear, however, whether caraway is truly indigenous to Europe. Today, it is chiefly cultivated in Finland, the Netherlands, Eastern Europe and Germany, furthermore North Africa, particularly Egypt.
Culinary Uses: Use caraway seeds when baking bread, sprinkle over the top just before baking, add the seeds to cakes, baked fruits, chutneys and pickles, they will all benefit from the flavour given from the seeds. The root of this herb can also be used, roast as you would just like any other vegetable. Try adding the leaves to stews and soups. Caraway works especially well with pork.
Planting: Caraway grows best in full sun, in a well-drained soil which is high in organic matter with a pH of 6. 0 to 7. 5. Seed can be sown in spring or early autumn. Caraway should always be direct seeded as seedlings do not transplant well. Fall planted caraway will often produce seed the following summer. Sow seed about a half inch deep and thin seedlings to a final stand of six to eight inches apart. Space rows to accommodate cultivation equipment. Four to eight pounds of seed will plant an acre, depending on row spacing. The seed is slow to germinate, making weed control important during the seedling stage. Shallow cultivation is recommended. Since seed will not be produced until the second season, caraway is often intercropped with annuals such as beans or peas or grown with a cover crop.

I asked a question three times about some seeds I purchased from them. still waiting for answer. Its been over two weeks. I won't buy from them any more.
Purchased monkey puzzle tree seeds. They arrived on time and in acceptable packaging, but the seeds are way too tiny. This type of tree produces large seeds, usually 1.5 to 2 inches in length. The seeds I received where not even 1/16 of an inch.
Emailed seller twice regarding my surprise and concern and have not received a response.
My recommendation: Find another seller.
