The leaves have wavy edges with many pointed lobes. They are also bristle to tipped, thin, shallowly notched, dark green or deep yellow green above and slightly paler beneath. The leaves are smooth with white veins, and are 4 to 7 inches long. The acorn is red or light brown with a shallow cup that has close scales.
Specifics about This Red Oak: Grown on our family farm, never had chemicals used around it. The seed is NOT Certified Organic, however, it is grown in organic soil on a certified Organic Farm.
Important Notes: All acorns are decupped prior to storage to reduce the chance of fungal infection. Oaks readily germinate, if you have received your oaks and they are starting to germinate, either plant immediately, or place in a cool (34 to 42`F location, the standard household refrigerator is perfect; until ready to start.)
