This little fall woodland scene is less than six inches across! This vintage painting is by an artist named "Tootie" who dated it " '74." You can see the grass, tree line, and a footbridge in muted shades of green and brown.
I've not been able to find out anything about the artist. I do know that this piece would be a perfect addition to the eclectic decorating trends of today. Prop it on a shelf with some interesting objects you might find in the woods, or try gathering knicknacks that have a similar color theme.
Dimensions (with frame):
6 x 5 1/2 x 1/2 in. (U.S.)
15 x 14 x 2 cm. (Metric)
Whoever Tootsie was, she believed in reclaiming found objects for new uses--the painting is on a square of reclaimed particle board (it has fake wood grain pressed into the back of the board), and is permanently glued into the tiny wood frame.
Condition notes: The painting has a scratch on the surface which is visible from an extreme angle and one corner of the frame is a bit damaged (see photo). Otherwise great condition. I don't know whether this is an oil painting or acrylic.
