Large Sandy Porcelain Shell Hanging Bird Feeder with Heart Beads
I pressed porcelain clay into a plaster mold that I have made from a real sea shell. The piece was then bisque fired to make the first transition from clay to ceramic. Next I put a sandy looking glaze that reminds me of the beach on the piece to provide a non-porous surface for food usage. Then I fired the piece to maturity at cone 6.
It is suspended from jewelry wire, added glass heart beads in a complimentary color, and finished with a copper clasp. You can either hang it from a hook ( not included) or simply wrap the wire around a branch or other object and clip the copper clasp around the wires as shown. About 6" x 6".
Fill with treats or water for your feathered neighbors. Wash with soap now and then to keep it clean, and scrub stubborn stains with baking soda. Protect from freezing in winter.
My bluebird family loves these! I hang one next to their nest box, and I put out a tablespoon or so of dried meal worms every day.
I will ship to many other countries. Please ask me for a shipping quote for you!

My RKMixables line is designed for you to interchange pieces to suit your changing needs. The necklaces terminate in lobster clasps which will connect to each other, but I have planned for you to add a clasp and jumprings to connect more than one piece. The clasp will add another inch or so to the length of the piece, and the jumprings will keep the pieces together, whether you have chosen to twist or braid them or to cascade several lengths.
I can make alterations to many of the jewelry pieces before shipping if you desire. Necklaces can be shortened, and in some cases lengthened. I can also add an extender chain or clasp, and it is possible in many cases to use an "extender" to actually take up some length.
I can change many of the earrings to leverbacks at additional cost (leverbacks are much more expensive than wires) and I can change wires to posts. BUT - I do not have posts in copper yet. I also have some clip-on backs!
I am always happy to discuss making a special piece for you. Please don't hesitate to ask!
Thanks for reading about my policies.
