Warm, earthy colors are featured in this beaded key chain. The leather scrap and the larger beads were created from polymer clay. A few small seed beads were added for accent.
This beaded key chain would make a fun thank-you gift or stocking stuffer.
All the polymer clay components for the beaded key chain were handcrafted by me in my home studio in Washington state. Three faux items created from polymer clay are incorporated in the key chain:
* leather scrap
* bone bead
* river rock bead
For the leather scrap, I textured a flat piece of polymer clay and ripped the edges to give it a torn look. I also added polymer clay "stitching" to add to the leather look. After curing, I applied a thin coat of acrylic paint to age it and make it look like an old scrap of leather.
Most of the beads in the key chain have also been textured and aged with acrylic paint. The exception being the faux river rock - it was sanded and buffed with a soft cloth for a satin sheen.
Warm toned polymer clay beads have been added to give some color to the key chain. The polymer clay beads are strung with natural fiber beading cord in a dark chocolate brown color. Coordinating seed beads are used to finish of the cord ends.
Key ring is copper colored metal.
Key chain measures 5 1/4 inches.
