Vintage Red Tigereye Bead Bracelet, Bone ,Vintage Brass Tea Strainer
Vintage 1970s AAA grade Red Tigereye,Vintage Chinese carved bone beads, Vintage copper metallic glass beads, vintage Chinese brass tea strainer bead
GORGEOUS vintage red tigereye stone beads with a lovely chatoyance shows bands of bright reflected light in these 1970s beads . They are perfectly round with a high polish - the larger bead is approximately 1/2" in diameter whereas the other 3 measure approximately 3/8".
Stone beads of this time period that were cut in China are top top gem quality - evenly polished and perfectly round unlike the stone beads which are now being cut and exported from India (where the standards are no where as meticulous as the Chinese were in the 1970s. )
I've chosen to combine these stone beads with vintage Chinese carved bone beads in 3 different shapes : round, carved ridged spacer beads, and an ornate carved bead for a lot of textural interest. All of these bone beads were purchased in Hong Kong during the late 1970s - 1980s when I was designing beaded jewelry for the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History gift shop and mail order catalogs.
Please note: the bone beads aren't quite as ' yellow ' as they appear in the photos but more of a cream color.
There is one vintage " brass tea strainer " bead which is a little less than 1/2" in diameter and which I found in Pakistan during the 1980s when there on a buying trip.
Finally , vintage 1940's copper glass beads have been added for a bit of sparkle to compliment the polish and color of the stone beads. They have a primitive look to them which again is another texture I have added to this bracelet.
This bracelet is approximately 8" long and has been finished with a gold plated toggle clasp.
It will arrive in a vintage Chinese embroidered silk brocade purse all ready for gift giving.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: POSTAGE RATES HAVE RISEN DRAMATICALLY IN 2016
ORDERS INSIDE USA: A charge of $3.60 covers any first class shipment up to 8 ounces. Our beads vary so much in weight that it is impossible for us to apply a single add-on charge for multiple product orders. We will continue to refund to customers any amount that greatly exceeds our actual cost of shipping and handling.
ORDERS OUTSIDE USA: International First Class rates are now crazy: $13.50 for any package weighing from 1-8 ounces. Even an order for 2-3 small bead items may cost $13.50 or more, depending on the type of material (stone versus resin, for example). Please bear with us for a few weeks while we change our listings to account for the new rates. We apologize in advance if we have to adjust the postage cost of an order that has been placed. We will understand if an order is rescinded when the postage cost is too high relative to the product value.
All international orders have contents described as "loose beads" and are flagged as "commercial samples" or " gift" if you prefer to make your life easier when receiving your beads. If you'd like us to mark your order as " gift" instead please let us know!
All our beads are inspected one by one before being shipped. They are individually wrapped to protect them and then put in little plastic ziploc bags.
