Vintage Carved Amber Shou Bead Necklace,Coral,Bone,Black Onyx,Hawkseye
Vintage Chinese carved amber shou eternity symbol beads,Vintage tiger coral beads, vintage carved bone , Vintage black onyx, Vintage hawkseye ( blue ) tigereye, vintage brass
.This vintage bead necklace has a very old world look to it - one rich in Asian history and culture and one of my vintage neck pieces which reminded me very much of an archeological treasure hunt as I was designing it.
◉ This necklace sold in the Sackler Gallery( the Smithsonian's Asian museum ) in the late 1980's under my company name back then of " Beadles ".
The focal piece of this asymmetrical necklace is an vintage piece of carved bone that we purchased in the late 1980's. It measures approximately 3 1/4" in length and has been polished to have a beautiful sheen and to feel wonderful in your hand. This piece of course has been drilled through to turn it into a fabulous focal bead.
Actual bone focal bead may have a very slight variation to the one pictured as I had made a couple such necklaces for the Sackler Gallery.
Two very old 20mm genuine amber beads were hand carved in China with the Chinese eternity or shou symbol creating both texture and yet more history surrounding this necklace. ( There are 25mm to the inch ).
Blue tigereye ( hawkseye ) in a streamline twist shape ( very characteristic of cutting in the 1970's ) mimics the shape of the bone focal piece. Tiger coral in a 12mm size and vintage picture jasper help set off the amber pieces as do the carved bone spacers, and vintage African brass.
The rest of this necklace is comprised of top quality vintage black onyx beads in a 10mm size to add depth and dimension to the various vintage focal beads.
This is a very long necklace measuring approximately 32" and has been hand knotted by me on black silk cord.
◉ All the stone beads that I use in my work are vintage and specifically chosen by me when in Hong Kong on buying trips during the 1970s-1980s. They all have a beautiful polish, are drilled all the way through , and perfectly round. Nowadays, almost all stone beads are being exported from India where the quality of workmanship is nowhere near that of the Chinese over 30 yrs. ago. The difference is obvious when you compare the old vintage stone beads that I use to the new ones being imported from India! ◉

We will continue to refund to customers any amount that greatly exceeds our actual cost of shipping and handling.
ORDERS OUTSIDE USA: International First Class rates are now crazy: $16.50 for any package weighing from 1-5 ounces. Even an order for 2-3 small bead items may cost $16.50 or more, depending on the type of material (stone versus resin, for example). We apologize in advance if we have to adjust the postage cost of an order that has been placed. We will understand if an order is rescinded when the postage cost is too high relative to the product value.
All international orders have contents described as "loose beads" and are flagged as "commercial samples" or " gift" if you prefer to make your life easier when receiving your beads. If you'd like us to mark your order as " gift" instead please let us know!
All our beads are inspected one by one before being shipped. They are individually wrapped to protect them and then put in little plastic ziploc bags.

Love my beads! The coloring in the epidote was not as intense as illustrated, but it is certainly a good example of the mineral. The colors in the unakite beads are wonderful. The quality of the carving I would rate as good to excellent.
Nice beads!! Super fast thanks a lot!!!
I have dreamed of having a necklace such as the jade one. But the red one. That was a surprise. Both are beautiful. Thank you! Best, Jane
Lovely color;!interesting stones.
When I thought that I had ordered two of these and then checked out I had to order another set. The seller was very kind and combined my two orders and refunded my shipping.
