AIMLESS DIARIES: DESERT ROMANCE is one of two 7”x 5” collector picture books from Kim Nicolini's watercolor series. DESERT ROMANCE contains full color prints of 19 Aimless Diaries paintings and close-up images of painting details. Bodyscapes are visual explorations of the inner and outer landscapes of the female body. The desert landscape, as seen through Nicolini's vision, is rendered in vivid color and transcends the real, placing us in a magical landscape of desert plants, glowing lights, roads to nowhere, and the trucks that take us there. Each painting reads like a coded fairytale. Together, they create a new mythology of what living in Tucson's Sonoran Desert feels like below the surface and in our dreams. A limited run of 20 books is available. Each book is signed and numbered by artist Kim Nicolini.
