I knit, my sister crochets, and neither of us had ever used a nostepinne. But a fellow wood turner had some nostepinnes for sale and his wife, who knits, showed me what the strange looking tool was for. Wonderful!! I had been hand winding yarn via my thumb!. My sister bought an expensive yarn winder, and was discouraged to find it did not work very well. Well, there is not much that can "not work" with a hand turned wooden nostepinne!!!
Hand turned from beautiful Bubinga wood, sanded to 1200 grit smooth, finished with multiple coats of wipe-on-poly, then waxed and buffed using the Beall Buffing System, this hand tool feels smooth to the hand. Decorated with grooves and burn marks, this is not a plain, simple hand tool, it is a future family heirloom.
Length: 8"; 3" circumference, 0.9549" diameter.
