This delicious necklace was created entirely in hand sculpted polymer clay, featuring a permanent transfer of one of my most recent chow batik artwork. The colors are "stop traffic" stunning with a rich push and pull of the warm amber to the cool purples and greens.
I started with the batik which I transferred to white polymer clay to add depth and brilliance to the painting colors....then layered the art over a jet black base of polymer clay to make the chow litereally POP off the miniature canvas
The top of the piece is rolled over to create a long tubular "bail" to accomodate the beadwork stringing.
Now the fun parts comes....the floral detailing is hand sculpted petal by petal....leaf by leaf to add dimension and depth to the pendant artwork. It is something a camera simply can't do justice. So much dainty detail!!!
Next comes the beadwork. I pulled out all the stops on this one, cutting into a purple jade necklace I had purchased in China at the gift shop where the Terracotta Warriors reside in Yaan. This necklace is the first to grace 6 of these special beads
The large amber nuggets are reconstituted amber from Tibet, and the large green "seaglass" nuggets are also very special and EXPENSIVE!!!
The back is finished with a classy matte black enameled toggle clasp
The neckace measures 19" but I am happy to convert this to an adjustable necklace with a lobster clasp. Just ask and I will make it so!!
This outstanding statement necklace will arrive in a beautiful leatherette display/travel case as my gift to you!!
Augustiana has such vibrant and beautiful colors she will carry you into this Autumn and all throughout the year. With denim she is a knockout. With black, brown and neutrals a class act. Couple with greens and coral pinks as well. It is hard to go wrong with this exciting one of a kind treasure!!!
