Handmade Goncalo Alves Wood Bottle Opener - Chrome Tiger Iron Gemstone
Handturned Solid Wood Bottle Opener by Lonnie Boyle
To make this stopper, a solid piece of goncalo alves wood is handturned on a lathe to create a graceful shape with subtle carved accents. The end tapers to frame an inset 25mm cabochon of tiger iron, a gemstone similar to tiger eye. The shape is nicely balanced for a solid grip and the stone highlights the color of the goncalo alves, which is also known as tigerwood. This piece of wood has a straight grain and uniform color (natural, no stain is used).
The opener is high-quality chrome plating, threaded into the wood and also glued securely in place. This opener has good weight without being bulky, measuring 7" in total length and about 1-3/8" at the widest point. The wood has been sealed with two coats of food-safe finish that adds protection without extra shine (the surface is not shiny as a gloss lacquer would be). Because this is made from a single piece of wood and the hardware is sturdy, this opener will have a good long life.
This beautiful handmade opener makes a great gift or accessory for a home bar and comes packaged in a protective pouch. First Class postage cost includes tracking, which I will notify you of upon shipping.
Other combinations of wood, gemstone, contouring and sizes are available. Please use the "contact this seller" button to ask about custom designs!
