These sweet little handmade earrings are a pretty combination of ruby crystals, white freshwater pearls, and sterling silver. They have a delicate look but are sturdily made from sterling wire (22 gauge), and are a nice pair for someone who likes a simple touch of sparkle and gloss in a lightweight dangle.
The ruby crystals are bicone in shape (4mm) and from Swarovski (made in Austria). They pair up perfectly with the freshwater pearls, which are slightly larger than the bicones. There are also sterling silver rounds (3mm) and silver-filled beads (2mm) on the dangles.
The design here is simple but elegant, with each dangle including a freshwater pearl nestled between a pair of silver-filled beads and then flanked by a pair of the ruby crystals. At both ends of the dangle there is also a sterling silver round. The bottom is finished off with a loop that I carefully hammered for strength, and the top has a triple wire wrap.
The ear wires are sterling silver French hooks, with the sterling mark on the rear of the hooks. They come with clear earnuts (also known as ear guards or stoppers) to help keep this sweet pair more secure when worn.
Along with the French hooks, the length is about 1 3/4 inches. My photos include a measurement picture with a ruler and coin to give you a clear idea of the size.
These lovely earrings come on cards and in an organza bag, perfect for gift giving. As ruby is the birthstone for June, they are a nice affordable alternative to the real gemstone for a June birthday gift. :)
