This elegant adjustable pink Czech-glass beaded bracelet expresses support for breast cancer awareness while also serving as a nine-bead chaplet for prayer and contemplation. The awareness ribbon charm used here is sterling silver and quite lovely, with a stylish, flowing form. It is paired with a small cross, which is also sterling silver, and both are attached to the bracelet strand with jump rings. The pink crystal beads (8mm) are softly faceted and have an opaque quality to them, with slight hints of peach along the edge in certain angles of light. Their shade of pink is soft and delicate, which seems appropriate for a bracelet like this.
Other features of this piece include Swarovski clear crystal bicones (4mm, made in Austria) and white pearls (4mm, 6mm), as well as TierraCast (made in the USA) bright silver-plated daisy spacers.
Here is how the bracelet is designed: The pink Czech glass beads are grouped in trios, with a Swarovski clear crystal added between most of the beads in the trios. The exception is where the sterling awareness ribbon and cross are attached, between the first and second pink bead from the bracelet clasp. Two small sterling round beads are used instead, as they provide a better base for securing the charms. A small white pearl separates each trio, signaling a change in the prayers used with the chaplet. All the pink beads in the bracelet strand are bordered with daisy spacers.
The strand is finished off on either side with a pair of white pearls, a sterling silver twist crimp between two daisy spacers, and a sterling silver wire guard. The crimps hold secure the bracelet's beading wire, which here is high-quality 49-strand "bright." The sterling guards help to protect the wire.
The clasp used here is a nice medium-sized silver-plated lobster clasp. Including its connector loop, it is roughly one-half inch in length, which is generally a user-friendly size. The extender chain is silver tone, about one inch in length, and finished off with a handmade dangle. The dangle consists of a larger (6mm) white Swarovski pearl topped by a daisy spacer, a small sterling bead (2mm), and another of the clear Swarovski bicone crystals. Both the extender chain and the clasp are attached to the bracelet with TierraCast silver-on-pewter oval jump rings.
The bracelet's basic length is approximately 7 inches, with another inch added by the adjustable chain. Please see my photos for a picture showing the bracelet and extender chain alongside a ruler, which I included to help you get a clearer idea of the measurements. There is also a close up of the lobster clasp in the picture.
All in all, this is a lovely bracelet chaplet for showing support of breast cancer awareness, with an eye-catching prettiness as well as a spiritual quality. It has been made with care and good wishes.
About Nine-Bead Chaplets
A nine-bead chaplet (often called a "niner") facilitates a simple and easily remembered form of spiritual devotion. Its standard prayer pattern is three recitations of each of the following prayers: "Our Father," "Hail Mary," and "Glory Be." The trios of each prayer correspond to the trios of the prayer beads.
Having a chaplet as a bracelet is nice because it easily goes with you, right on your wrist, and can serve as a reminder of, and helper with, spiritual practice. A chaplet can be used for any form of good intention - such as offering thanks, reflecting on penance, or requesting divine assistance for oneself or others - or simply as a "time out" of life's busy flow to engage in spiritual contemplation or personal meditation. Such a bracelet can also help a person going through difficult times to maintain strength and courage.
