This beautiful old Quaker lace tablecloth still wears it's small original label sewn into the edging. The Quaker company made lace from the early 1900's until the late 1900's and now no longer exsist.
Quaker lace was top of the line for so many years when ladies wanted lovely lace tablecloths to grace their dining room tables. The company came up with machinery to make the lace quickly and efficiently. Up until then there were only handmade lace tablecloths taking years to finish. The Quaker company was known for their superior tablecloths being so well made and easy to care for. Now, it seems, any lace table cloth is called Quaker lace, but there is really only one original Quaker lace company that made the coveted tablecloths.
The tablecloth I am offering is large. It measures approx. 100 inches long by 56 inches wide. Much too long for my own dining room table. It was an estate sale find and has been gently used. I find no spots, but there is one small place where the lace seems separated from the surrounding area making it appear to be a small hole, but I am not sure it is. My fourth photo shows this area. There is one snagged place along the side, close to the edge. I will be adding a photo of that very soon.
The shade of this tablecloth is a dark ecru. It is a perfect color for a country home and would be stunning with china in browns, reds or greens. What a pleasure it would be to use this tablecloth for the holidays when you wish to set a lovely table for your family and friends.
