Exquisite is the only way to describe this vintage bone china tea cup and saucer. Made by Paragon and hand painted in the bowl of the cup and again in the center of the saucer, spring narcissus and tulips grow abundantly on a black background. The celadon green of the saucer and the exterior of the cup mirrors the green leaves and stems of the spring bulb flowers. Gold on the rims and handle look lovely against the celadon green of the saucer and outside of the cup.
This tea cup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and no scratches that I can find. The glaze seems perfect. The centers of the narcissus are slightly raised and you can feel them with your finger. The cup stands approx. 2 inches high and the saucer is approx. 5 and 1/2 inches across.
This style of cups and saucers were made by Paragon between 1948 and 1952.
Paragon collectors will love this Spring Bouquet cup and saucer.
