There is a whole rainbow of bright and happy color that has been tack fused to the green and black base! The textures and patterns are also marvelous and create a great tactile experience to accompany the brilliant visual display. This piece of one-of-a-kind original jewelry will be sure to attract attention and enliven any outfit! Wear this when the mood says "fun". Go Salsa dancing, to your favorite Mexican restaurant or wear it to put smiles on peoples faces.

This little chili pepper pendant measures 1.75 inches (4cm) long and 1 inch (2.5cm) wide at the top. This measurement does not include the brass wire wrapped bail and copper jump rings. The wires add more color and shine to the pendant, making this the perfect pendant for a good time! This pendant will look great on either sex.

This pendant is shown above with a black corded ribbon necklace and with a black braided leather necklace. These necklaces can be purchased separately in this shop and there is no extra charge for necklace shipping when purchased with a pendant. #P2040

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

I wanted to make something very different to add to my shop. Music of the Buena Vista Social Club must have been playing in the studio when my hands cut out the shape of this chili pepper. I added a black top and a bit of dichroic color and put it into the kiln for a full fuse at 1500 degrees F. When it came out, I saw that it still needed more color and texture, so I added more colorful bits and tack fused them in the second trip to the kiln. The little chili pepper came out of the kiln dancing! I added the brass and copper to finish off the look!

More Info

Here is some information about dichroic glass. Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA as part of their satellite mirror systems. The thin dichroic coating must be applied to the sheet glass in very controlled environments. Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it appears to pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass. Dichroic glass is very coveted by glass jewelry artisans. Just a little bit will do.

All Umeboshi jewelry is handmade by the artist at Dark Hollow Studio in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. Each piece is carefully fired and annealed in a digital kiln for a beauty and longevity! This piece is has it's own inspiration and you should not see another one just like this.
