Are you in need of something a little different and unique for your kilt? Need a pocket or belt pouch for that Renaissance outfit? Then look no farther! This handmade Rob Roy style Scottish Sporran may be just what you're looking for. This cinch style pouch features a stunning piece of furry cowhide.

The front flap of this sporran is special. It has a lovely piece of hair on brindle cowhide. The colors go from caramel brown to black. Finishing the front flap is a piece of folded leather the same color as the pouch.

To hold the sporran closed you wrap the lacing over the antique gold metal knot button. The lacing runs through the body of the sporran. To reduce wear and tear on the lacing, there are gold colored grommets that it passes through.

Soft caramel colored leather makes up the pouch of this sporran. Inside the pouch there are two features that aren't found in most sporrans. The first is that it has two card holders. These are great for keeping your I.D. and most used card handy. The other feature is a key clip. This will keep your keys safe and easily accessible. No more digging around the bottom of the sporran looking for them when you're ready to go somewhere.

If you choose to wear the sporran at the waist as a belt pouch, this one can accommodate a belt up to 2.5" wide.

Our Rob Roy style sporrans are great if you're looking for something with a little more room than the military styles you find elsewhere. This cinch style pouch is deceptively large (2" deep when full). It can be worn on a sporran belt or at the waist as a belt pouch. To give an example of the capacity, we have been able to carry a wallet, phone and camera with room to spare

Each of our sporrans is hand cut and sewn on a 1950s Singer sewing machine. This means that no two are exactly alike.

Your sporran will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with delivery conformation.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

"Sporran" comes from the Scottish Gaelic for "pouch" or "purse". Traditionally a kilt does not have pockets making it hard to carry around small things like money. The sporran is then used either on a sporran belt worn in the front, or on regular belt at the hip. This allows the wearer to carry around objects leaving his/her hands free.
