Vintage Infant of Prague Statue
13 inches tall to top of crown
This is an Infant of Prague chalkware statuette that belonged to my grandmother, who also handmade all the vestments. She was a seamstress/pattern maker with the ILGWU (International Ladies Garment Works Union) from the 50s to the 70s, so these vestments are one of a kind and high quality.
The vestments come in two pieces. Undergarment is a lace dress that snaps in the back. The cape is orange and trimmed with lace, secured with pins.
The statue itself is lovely but seems to have had head and arms broken and repaired at some point, so cracks and glue are present, but not visible when clothing is on. Labeled "Made in Japan." Crown is removable and metal and trimmed with red rhinestones.
Overall, a beautiful piece.
