The Goldenrod CD, alternative new age originals, 14 songs
As stated, "The Goldenrod" is an album of original songs. It was recorded, mixed, mastered, co-produced and played on by Scott Petito (known for his work with well known acoustic performers such as James Taylor, Livingston Taylor, Pete Seeger, Aine Minogue, Jay Unger and Molly Mason and many others).
"The Goldenrod" was made possible by a grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts. It was also an "editor's pick" and on the recommended CDs at CD Baby from 2004 - 2008 when Derek Sivers ran the company.
It has cinematic-like arrangements and the theme of the album is "heartbreak and hope" exploring mystical and spiritual subjects. It features a stellar cast of musicians. Goldenrod and flowers as represented in the lyrics mean new love and hope.
Musicians and instrumentation for "The Goldenrod" include the following:
Lise Winne: vocals, harmony vocals, nylon and steel string guitars, recorder, whistles
Jeff Belding: nylon and steel string guitars, electric guitar and effects, mandolin
Joe Davoli: violin, baritone violin
Rick Eckberg: double bass, electric bass
Scott Petito: electric basses, electric sitar, percussion
Jason Kessler: nylon and steel string guitars
Brian Melick: percussion
Jim Lestrange: hammered dulcimer, harmony vocals, electric bass

Reviews for THE GOLDENROD:
"What a work to be proud of!"
----Lisa Lynne, Celtic harper, composer and recording artist
with Windham Hill and New Earth Records
"I find the musical arrangements and instrumentation on The Goldenrod quite delightful!...Your songs are fascinating, and I love the unusual musical twists and turns they take. The ambitious nature of lyrics (in terms of vocabulary, imagery, rhyming pattern, poetic points of view, and overall introspective point of view) makes for an unusually demanding listening experience...I commend you for a beautiful and ambitious album."
----Walt Haake, program host for "The Mists of Avalon" radio show, WDVR, Sargeantsville, NJ
"Singer-songwriter Lise Winne is back with her fourth album, 'Goldenrod' on Lilac/Goldenrod Records. Recorded at Scott Petito's NRS Studios in Catskill, the album is a diverse collection of songs incorporating elements of folk, new age and Renaissance music. Especially intriguing is 'Love Find Your Way to Me,' with Winne's winning vocals accompanied by a swirling, almost psychedelic electric sitar."
----Greg Haymes, Albany Times Union
"Singer-songwriter presents originals grounded in equal parts folk and classical traditions."
". . .Winne's heavenly vocal tones and deep vibrato are stunning. . ."
----David Malachowski, writer for Metroland Magazine and The Albany Times Union, also guitarist for Shania Twain
"Wow, what a voice and spirit!"
----Joy Adler, vocalist, songwriter
"Beautiful music, and the voice - sounds like the voice of the spirit:-)"
----Sonja Lidsheim, Norwegian folk singer, voice & drama teacher
". . .absolutely stunning. . . The vocals, everything,
is fabulous. World needs to watch out for all that talent! "
