Beaded Artist Bear Made from Vintage Mohair is Sold
Please read all my shipping policies before ordering this unique teddy bear.
This bear has been sold. Miss Pearl, like all my bears is a one-of-a-kind piece. Another just like her cannot be made but, upon request, a similar bear can be made from the same vintage mohair and embroidered and beaded in a similar manner.
This bear is 4.5" short. She is crafted from vintage mohair in dark royal blue. The fabric was originally made as an upholstery fabric for furniture and Model T cars. I managed to find a yard each of three colors, amethyst, emerald green and dark royal blue. I have made several bears from this fabric and beaded them all. Pearl is the third design. I used Japanese delicas in a pearl color to embellish this wonderful fabric. Pearl sports an Elizabethan style cap and collar. The collar, made from ruffled gros grain ribbon, is embellished with the same beads used on the rest of Pearl's body.
Pearl is fully jointed. She has black suede paw pads and inner ears, an embroidered nose and hand blown German glass eyes in blue. She is stuffed with polyester fiberfill and is weighted with steel shot for a heavy-in-your hand feel. She sports my trademark star in her paw pad.
Pearl is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. Like all of my teddy bears, this bear is not a toy and is not intended for small children. Small parts present a choking hazard. In addition to personal checks and US Postal Money orders, I accept PayPal. Shipments paid for by check are held until the check clears.
I do not pad my shipping charges but do pass actual costs on to the buyer. ArtFire requires that I pick a number for shipping so I picked the least expensive, slow-boat-to-China rate offered by the United States Postal Service. Secondary shipping charges depend on what else you are purchasing. If you are purchasing more than one item at a time from my studio, please e-mail for shipping charges. If you wish to choose a shipping method other than the USPS to a US address, the cost is more. That said, U.S. or Canadian purchasers may choose the U.S. Postal System, UPS or Fed Ex. but please request a shipping quote before making a purchase.
International purchasers may only use U.S. Global Priority Mail. Costs for Global Priority shipments vary by destination and package weight. Please contact me for a shipping quote before making a purchase. I combine shipping costs automatically.
Insurance is optional but I accept no responsibility for damage to or loss of uninsured shipments.
