Appolo Sheffield nickel silver basket base from items passed down in my family...
According to a handwritten note by my mother, this piece belonged to my great-aunt who died in 1932, and it was about 10 years old at that time, putting it in the 1922 range. Originally a basket, I can remember as a teenager in the 1950's when Mom was dusting one day, accidentally gave the basket a much too energetic whack, and the handle broke off. The handle was rather tall and straight across the top. You can see in one of the pictures of the backside where the handle had been attached. Upright you cannot see the scars. It is approx. 7" across and 1" high.
The piece is marked...Apollo Sheffield, made in U.S.A. BRS Nickel Silver and 3106.
I have polished the piece as best I could, it could use more. It has some slight dents and corrosion spots. Even so, it is a pretty piece with its ruffled edges and zig-zag cut-out design.
I ship to the United States only. Shipping is by USPS Priority and usually is mailed the next business day after I have received payment confirmation from PayPal.
A portion of the sale price for this item will be donated to Homeward Bound Animal Rescue in Bedford, TX.
