This is the ORIGINAL 'Peeta's Gift' Necklace with a genuine freshwater pearl, swarovski crystal, sterling silver plated chain, and silver soldered jump rings. The Meadow was the first to create this beautiful tribute to Catching Fire.

Peeta's final gift to Katniss was a beautiful pearl that she says she'll keep close to her, that will give her strength. Keep Peeta's gift close to you wearing this beautiful 'Peeta's Gift' Pearl Necklace.

An ivory, freshwater pearl, carefully handwrapped in sterling silver plated wire, dangles elegantly from a 16 inch, sterling silver plated chain. It's accented with a 4mm 'Katniss eye' colored Swarovski Crystal. (This crystal can be replaced by a crystal of practically any color, just leave me a note upon check out, the second set of photos shows a crystal in Aurora Borealis (AB). If no note is left the silvery gray bead will be sent:) Blue is a good choice as well, to represent Peeta's eyes, as well as black for District 12. Contact me if you would like to see a crystal in a different color :)

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

"Peeta's just pried open an oyster when I hear him give a laugh. "Hey, look at this!" He holds up a glistening, perfect pearl about the size of a pea. "You know, if you put enough pressure on coal it turns to pearls, he says earnestly to Finnick.
"No, it doesn't," says Finnick dismissively. But I crack up, remembering that's how clueless Effie Trinket presented us to the people of the Capitol last year, before anyone knew us. As coal pressured into pearls by our weighty existence. Beauty that arose out of pain.
Peeta rinses the pearl off in the water and hands it to me. "For you." I hold it out on my palm and examine its iridescent surface in the sunlight. Yes, I will keep it. For the few remaining hours of my life I will keep it close. This last gift from Peeta. The only one I can really accept. Perhaps it will give me strength in the final moments.
"Thanks," I say, closing my fist around it...
