Vintage handpainted plate with pink roses, one in full bloom, one in partial, and a rose bud. Set against a backdrop of leaves and a yellow background with green tones, the same color of the leaves.
Plate is signed by the artist and very difficult to make out the signature. Seems to read T. Shibaud but I just can't be certain. I've provided a photo for your review.
To highlight this lovely plate, the artist has painted heavy gold over the rim area. This gold rim has sufficient paint wear and there is crazing that lends even more to the shabby chic appeal.
Otherwise, this plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flea bites, etc.
I estimate the plate circa 1950s and the handpainted flowers and plate are just lovely and a great decor item.
Measures 8 1/4" in diameter.
