The big, beautiful, bold Mohave purple turquoise cabochon has been framed in 14k gold bonded wire and accented with a smooth oval Amethyst bead. Though this purple turquoise is not natural, it is absolutely gorgeous and makes a statement. It has beautiful rich coloration, with contrasting golden metallic webbing, through and through, as well as a few flecks of shiny metallic pyrite. The source is from the Kingman turquoise mine in Arizona. It is composed of small chunks of natural blue turquoise, to which was added red dye and a brassy-bronze metallic. From there, the proprietary process is very much the same as with other stabilized turquoise, using a combination of heat and compression, and this is the end result. A keystone shape with a rounded dome and a glossy polish front and back. Pendant measure 3" long.
